Arizona Auto License Services is ready to get you on the road, whether you want to drive a tractor-trailer, garbage truck, transit buses, delivery vehicles, or school buses. If you’re an Arizona resident looking to get a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) we can help.

As long as you’re a legal resident of Arizona and at least 18 years old, you’ll be able to obtain a Commercial Learner’s Permit, complete a Commercial Driver License Application, pass any of the required knowledge exams, and finally, add endorsement skills in one of our six offices near Phoenix and Flagstaff. We can even recommend great skills test training centers.

We’re happy to explain how to get your commercial driver’s license in person, so feel free to come in and talk to us.

Why Should You Get a Class A CDL?

This is the highest level of CDL with the most advanced tests and longest training. With this license you can acquire all the important endorsements (H, N, P, S, T, X). You’ll be part of the privileged few who can handle tractor-trailers, truck and trailer combinations, tank vehicles, livestock carriers and flatbeds.

Why Should You Get a Class B CDL?

If you want to drive a bus or a garbage truck you only need a Class B. The training is typically 3-4 weeks. There are fewer exams as well. Eligible for H, N, P, S, X endorsements.

Why Should You Get a Class C CDL?

If you’d like to pursue a career which requires driving airport shuttles, small school buses, hotel passenger vans, or delivery vehicles carrying hazardous materials you’ll need a Class C CDL. Intensive training courses usually range from 2-4 weeks. Eligible for H, P, S endorsements.

How Do Endorsements Work?

They’re extras. Each endorsement proves that you have specialized knowledge and can handle more responsibility. If you get a CDL without any endorsements then you’ll most likely be limited to standard levels and less pay. But don’t worry. After you get your CDL you can always add more endorsements at a later date.

P – Passenger: Needed for vehicles designed to transport 16 or more people, including the driver.

S – School Bus: Necessary for driving a school bus, requiring a P endorsement as a prerequisite.

T – Double/Triple Trailers: Authorizes drivers to pull two or three trailers.

H – Hazardous Materials (Hazmat): Required to transport materials deemed dangerous by federal regulations, necessitating a TSA background check.

N – Tank Vehicle: Required to operate vehicles designed to transport liquids or gases in bulk (e.g., fuel or water trucks).

X – Tank Vehicle/Hazmat Combo: A combination of N and H endorsements, often used for fuel tanker drivers
