Child identification cards

AZ Auto can help legal Arizona residents obtain child identification cards. Child IDs are available for anyone under 18.

A child ID can save a child’s life

Having an Arizona ID card can help law enforcement agencies to rapidly distribute your child’s information and photograph in case of an Amber Alert. They can also protect your child against identity theft. The identification card is available to all ages including infants.

What You Need To Bring To Our Office To Obtain a Child ID

2) The child’s Social Security number

3) One primary form of documentation such as:

Two of the documents are required if one has a clear photo of the applicant; or three of the listed documents without a photo.

All must be originals or copies certified by the issuing agency.

A full list of acceptable documents can be found at azdot.gov/childid.

After your child’s photo is taken, you will receive a temporary ID before you leave our office. Your ID card will arrive in the mail within 15 days.

Because childrens’ height, weight and appearance change rapidly it is recommended to update your child’s photo annually.

An Arizona state ID card can be used only for identification purposes. It does not permit you to drive a car.
