How To Obtain A Learner's Permit

If you are older than 15 years and 6 months, you can apply for a Learner’s Permit.
To acquire a Learner’s Permit, you must do the following:

  1. Schedule an appointment online or walk-in to any of our offices (located in Phoenix, Flagstaff, Avondale, or Laveen). If you are younger than 18, your legal guardian must accompany you.
  2. Present proper documentation:
      • Primary identification (e.g. Certified Birth Certificate, Passport, or an Extended State ID);
      • Proof of address;
      • Social Security
  3. Complete an application form, or we can complete it for you when you arrive..
  4. Pass the Written Test with at least 24 out of the 30 questions answered correctly.
  5. Pass the Vision Test, which requires you to have 20/40 vision in at least one eye.
  6. Pay the Learner’s Permit fee.

As soon as you’re finished, you’ll get your Driver’s Permit and be ready to practice on the streets, interstates, and highways. Remember that you must have a licensed driver, 21 or older, in the passenger seat at all times..

We look forward to helping you.
